Hello, Reba’s on the phone
In the TV biz, we’ve learned to expect the unexpected. One day, for instance, our promotion director answered her phone, only to hear the station operator say, “I’ve got Reba for you.” That’s one name that really needs no “McEntire” added to her introduction. “Um, okay, put her through,” she said. And there, out of the blue, Reba was chatting up someone she’d never met, as though they were old friends. The redhead superstar, perhaps the most-famous female country singer of all time, was just calling to congratulate WBNX for the great ratings her comedy series was achieving in Cleveland, among the nation’s best. With Reba, what you see is what you get—she’s a sweetheart on and off-camera. And since her series ended its prime time run last season, it has continued to get a great audience every weekday afternoon here in NE Ohio. We receive more feedback about her hilarious show than any other network comedy we’ve aired.
