Jarod Miller a rising star in wild kingdom
If his face isn’t familiar, take a good look at Jarod Miller, because it’s likely we’ll be seeing the young animal expert for decades to come.  He was just cited by Parade magazine as TV’s next big ‘wildlife advocate,’ following the jungle path of his friend and mentor Jack Hanna.  Now 60, Hanna still brings exotic species into NE Ohio homes every weekday morning via 179 episodes of his syndicated Animal Adventures series.  The Columbus Zoo icon has also been a talk-show fixture with his mix of humor, education and unpredictable “guests.”  (Hanna says the two worst bites he’s ever had were from a huge anaconda — and a beaver!)  His twentysomething protégé launched his own show this fall, Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller, with a passion that’s taken him everywhere from the Everglades and Mohave Desert…to Tyra and Conan—with creatures in-tow to educate a “new generation.”  The Boston native became hooked on animals at age 4, and kept the focus throughout high school and college, even doing some summer work at the Cleveland Zoo.  If you’re fascinated by the wild kingdom, these are two WBNX programs you don’t want to miss.
