In The CW’s new drama, Reign, Adelaide Kane plays Mary Stuart, the young woman the world would come to know as Mary, Queen of Scots. The teenage Mary is already a headstrong monarch—beautiful, passionate, and poised at the very beginning of her tumultuous rise to power.
Kane has been performing since the age of three, starting in dance then progressing to singing and acting. At the age of six, she began to work professionally in print ads and moved on to television commercials and work on various children's television shows.
At the age of 16, Kane was chosen from 7,000 actresses who auditioned for a role in the iconic Australian television soap opera Neighbours, where she was a series regular. Kane’s other television credits include portraying Tenaya 7 in Power Rangers, Teen Wolf and the television movie Secrets of the Mountain.
Kane recently appeared in the commercial box office success The Purge alongside Ethan Hawke, in addition to starring in Donner Pass, with David Duchovny and Vera Farmiga. She will soon be seen in the films Where the Devil Hides and After the Fall.
She currently resides in Los Angeles.
