Paige Turco stars as Dr. Abby Griffin, the Ark’s medical officer, in The CW’s critically-acclaimed drama The 100.
Turco was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. As a child she studied to become a ballerina. She performed as a soloist with the New England Dance conservatory, The Amherst Ballet Theatre Company and the Western Massachusetts Ballet Company, but her dreams were shattered when an ankle injury terminated her career as a dancer at age 14. She was forced to reevaluate her career decision and focused on drama and musical comedies instead. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in drama.
In 1987, she landed her first soap opera role in The Guiding Light, playing a troubled teenager. The following year, she accepted a job on All My Children, where she played Melanie Cortlant until she left the soaps in 1989 to try her luck on the big screen. She landed starring roles on such films as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, The Pompatus of Love, Urbania, The November Conspiracy, The Empath, Rhinoceros Eyes and Vibrations.
Turco landed leading roles in Shaun Cassidy’s controversial television series American Gothic, and Wolfgang Petersen and Shaun Cassidy’s series The Agency. She has also had recurring roles on Person of Interest, NYPD Blue and Party of Five, and numerous guest roles on such television series as The Fugitive, Law & Order: SVU and Blue Bloods.
She currently splits her time between Los Angeles and Vancouver.
